healthy cake? wait, what?

YEP. You read that correctly. This chocolate cake IS healthy! Well, about as healthy as a chocolate cake can get. It uses avocado and yogurt, instead of butter, to make it rich and fluffy. It tastes just like a big ole brownie. During the holiday season it’s hard to eat healthy. SO HARD. That’s why you need to stash this recipe away in your arsenal, and bring it out when you need a treat that’s not packed full of fat. This cake is decadent and rich and would make a great dessert for any holiday party!

why i love this healthy chocolate cake

It’s pretty much all in the name! Healthy Chocolate Cake? UM, OKAY! This cake is made with simple ingredients that ultimately result in a super rich, brownie-like cake. When you take out the butter, that pretty much takes out the majority of the unhealthy fat. This cake isn’t packed with sugar either, which is perfect for someone who prefers cake that isn’t smack-you-in-the-face sweet. Great for someone on a diet, seeing as each slice is only 5 points in Weight Watchers!

tips for making this healthy chocolate cake

You can use any kind of semi sweet chocolate you have around. I used mini chocolate chips, it all melts down to be the same!

Store in an air tight container, or freeze individual slices for a quick and easy dessert!

Top with mint and powdered sugar (pictured) for a fresh and minty flavor. You can also top with fresh fruit, such as strawberries or raspberries!
